Michael Mina's Kitchen in Millennium Tower San Francisco
When Michael Mina began his love affair with San Francisco, the earth moved. Literally. On his second day in the City, the Loma Prieta earthquake struck, but the 22-year-old chef was unfazed; he’d been given the opportunity of a lifetime to help design a restaurant from scratch, and he threw himself into it heart and soul.

20 years and 20 restaurants later, Mina’s mark has left a permanent impression on the city, and on many of its visitors. His flagship restaurant RN74, serves what many consider to be the finest dining available in San Francisco. Located just south of Market on the ground floor of Millennium Tower, RN74 is aptly named for the main highway that runs through the Burgundy wine region of France. Inspired by European rail stations, the urban wine bar and restaurant was spectacularly designed by New York-based design and concept house AvroKO, including a train-style reader board listing the last bottle of that particular wine available. While Mina has known great success with his signature restaurants through out the country, there is something undeniably unique and alluring about RN74 that has set it apart from the competition in a city known for its fine dining.

Recently, Haute Living named Michael Mina’s RN74 as SOMA’s best restaurant, as did they also name Millennium Tower SOMA’s best property. It is no wonder that in San Francisco’s most desirable neighborhood, inside the most luxurious building, you find San Francisco’s best dining experience.
